What is

    Perspective?

Let's Define:

per·spec·tive

/pərˈspektiv/

  1. a picture drawn (or a photograph) in perspective, especially one appearing to enlarge or extend the actual space, or to give the effect of distance.

  2. a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.

Welcome to the lesson! After this lesson is through, you're going to know so much about Perspective, your head might explode (figuratively of course)!

We will be exploring TWO DIFFERENT DEFINITIONS of Perspective.

The first definition is from an artist's point of view.  If you think about your artistic past, have you ever drawn a perspective drawing? Did you learn terms like 'one-point' and 'two-point'?  If so, you probably understand and know so much about this particular definition already! But how would you play with perspective through PHOTOGRAPHY??

The second definition is much more deep and meaningful. Have you ever wondered how arguments occur? Why doesn't everyone agree? Why does your friend like something you do not? It is because of this form of Perspective! Everyone has a DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW. We will talk more about how this occurs, how we should deal with it, and how to represent it through photography.
